WHAT:    

This program is modeled after the Citizen Police Academy and is designed to give young people an overview of the training undertaken by police officers. The program includes classroom instruction, exciting hands-on training, field trips, and a graduation ceremony.

WHEN:    

Dates for 2012 Teen Police Academy to be announced.

There is no charge for these programs. All lunches and transportation for field trips will be provided.

WHERE:    

Palm Beach Police Headquarters,
345 South County Road, Palm Beach

WHO CAN     APPLY:    

The BASIC Teen Police Academy is available for teens from 13-15 years of age who live in Palm Beach or attend school in town. Only those teens who have never attended a Teen Police Academy program should apply.

Student and his/her parent should request an application form.  Applicants must be prepared to attend all sessions and must have permission to take part in all scheduled activities.

  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Undercover Operations
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Crime Scene Investigations
  • Field Trip to Palm Beach County Jail
  • Water Rescue
  • Ride-Alongs in police car and police boat
