PALM BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT TAKES PART IN
CELEBRATE LITERACY WEEK – January 25 – 29, 2010

Palm Beach: Law Enforcement officers from around the State of Florida will take part in Celebrate Literacy Week by visiting schools and reading to students in kindergarten and first grade classes. Officers will read the book POLICE OFFICERS by Paulette Bourgeois. Officers will discuss with students the significance of reading and how they apply reading skills every day in what they do to protect Florida’s communities. Statewide, officers are expected to reach approximately 5,000 students through visits to 300 classes. 

On Wed. January 27, 2010,   Palm Beach Police Officers Michele Pagan and James Miller will read to students at Palm Beach Public School.
